Benjamin Hawkes

Benjamin Hawkes served as administrative officer and treasurer for archdiocese until Mahoney became archbishop in 1985. He died in September 1985 and was later accused in 1995 of abuse of two boys 1973-85, while assigned to St. Basil in L.A. Claims settled. As part of a 2007 $660M settlement with 508 plaintiffs, archdiocese was to release personnel files. Personnel files on 25 priests, including Hawkes was released January 2013.
