Barry E. Vinyard was named in a suit by a man that filed suit in 2003 alleging that he was abused as a boy by Vinyard 1978-79 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Calexico. He denied the allegations and was referred to as the first actively serving priest in the diocese to be named in a lawsuit. Bishop accepted Barry’s request for retirement status effective 1/1/04. His San Diego personnel file was released on 10/25/10.
