Deacon Arturo Ahumada pleaded no contest in March 2002 of providing pornographic material to two boys and to misdemeanor sexual battery on one of them between 1999-2000 at Epiphany Church in South El Monte. He was then taken into custody in May 2002 with a pending sentencing. He was later sentenced in June to one year in county jail, a 44-month suspended state prison term, and five years felony probation. Ahumada was also required to register as sex offender.
